Department of Epidemiology PhD student, Shantell Nolen, is riding across America this summer with Team Portland and the 4K for Cancer Program.

2017 marks the 16th year of 4K for Cancer sending young adults on journeys across the country in an effort to inspire hope and unite communities in the fight against cancer. The 4K for Cancer is a program of the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults (UCF).

The Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults has been changing lives since 1996 by creating a community of support for young adults, and their loved ones, as they fight cancer and embrace survivorship. Founded by the Ulman family after their son, Doug, was diagnosed with cancer during his sophomore year at Brown University, the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults has worked tirelessly to give young people facing cancer the support and care that they deserve.
